Not even I want to micromanage to that degree. I only have two conditions that truly matter.

The first one only concerns you, Izou. [ He'll make eye contact here and it's clear from his expression that he's not 'McGillis Sullen' serious but actual 'emotionally honesty' serious. ] I'm fine with it if it's Celeste and Eli, and that is because it's Celeste and Eli. Don't ever ask me for leave to share you with anybody else - I'm not that generous. And at the end of the day, I want to be your priority as you are mine.

[ There is more honesty and vulnerability in this than he's used to giving anybody. 'I trust you to be honest with me and choose me again and again' to Izou, 'I trust you two to not take what is precious to me' to Eli and Celeste.

He might well fall flat on his face with this trust. He might well have it come back to bite him, dull teeth cutting into flesh. But he'll give this to Braphine, to Gaelio, to the world: he'll try. And it's up to everyone else to prove his pessimism about the attempt wrong. ]

'S the art of drawing yer sword! Obviously a lotta people just draw their sword before they start fighting, but some schools incorporate the draw, or even treat a sheathed stance.

Izou's sword skill might not have been on the top of the list he likes about him, but it's certainly a bonus. ]
