[McGillis will get a bit of a fond look at the allusion to his past. It was so... casual... that it's impossible to take it as anything other than outright trust.

So with the others being sobered at the reminder, Celeste will turn that fondness into implicit permission to start that database if McGillis really, truly wants to, with something that may feel like a bit of a non-sequitur.]

[ Huh... that sure is an admission of genuine weakness that McGillis did not see coming as a response to his banter. After a second he gets where Celeste is coming from - answering trust with trust, putting his money where his mouth is on breaking down the walls between them all.

Is that the impact of having an almost-palace? McGillis wonders. He is still terrified of spawning a palace of his own, but if it was just those three coming to save him maybe it wouldn't be entirely unbearable. ]

You operate on classic vampire rules then? Seems like there is a lot in the books that holds true, much to my surprise.

[At this point, with these three, he can't truly say if it is the impact of an almost-palace or not. Perhaps he'd allowed himself to get close enough to them even before it that he still would have shared in an effort to foster trust.

Perhaps it was the effect of seeing just what happened when the ~goddess~ here saw true bonds being formed.

Perhaps it was recognizing the similarities between McGillis and Izou, and knowing that handing them a weakness of his own outright was disarming enough to put them at ease. (Though he really doubts Izou would be able to use that weakness he'd shared, now.)]

For the most part, yes. In my world, what you'd think of as classic vampire rules seem to be cases where humans discovered we exist, and wrote about us, or one of us wrote his sworn enemy's weakness into a work of fiction in an attempt to get him killed. So the waters are quite muddied, but there is some truth to every legend.

[So do you want to figure out what does and does not work, McGillis, or will you be joining Izou in the ~Sexy Vampire Lord~ camp?]

I see... I would be quite surprised if that was how the literature came to be in my world, but at this point I can't discount it as impossible.

It shall have to remain a mystery to me, but I'll keep wondering for quite a while at this rate.

[He's trusting that the strengths and weaknesses database is mostly in jest - friendly teasing to McGillis as they all know his propensity to over-organize by now... but it's also an expression of trust.

Besides, what real harm could he do with that one? Deny him access to his world? The one where he's died?

[ Considering Eli feels the chief weakness is an obvious one and that he's sure he's already told Izou about it, he isn't sure what hiding it from McGillis would do. That man is likely the smartest out of all of them, and all he'd need to do is open a book on werewolf myths to figure it out.

He leans over, settling against Celeste less for comfort and more just because he can, but he does, so there. ]

I don't mind. It's easy to figure out 'cause everyone knows the whole "silver kills werewolves" thing. That part's mostly true.

[ McGillis did not see this coming. The database was meant as a joke wholly and entirely and he'd meant strength and weaknesses wholly in a sexual context, given the 'sex files' joke preceding.

But he can't say he's displeased by this turn of conversation. He really is learning a lot of interesting things. Less because he currently feels he's going to have to use those weaknesses against them (though he's not entirely discounting that possibility either) and more because they really are all very interesting creatures. ]

Just mostly? What are the qualifiers? The way the silver is produced?

Well once I've got my proper mana supply back, I can technically survive anything as long as I still have mana to heal with and my spirit core ain't damaged!

Nah I got all the same organs as I had when I was alive, though my heart is attached to my spirit core, so a lotta the time a strike at the heart will also hit your spirit core. Basically it's the like... sorta the center that materializes mana into my body? S'why when you dematerialize mages refer to it as spirit form, I think.
