[ And sure enough, Aerith is waiting in the lounge! It doesn't seem like she's been waiting for too long, taking a couple of minutes to get her things together before heading over.

When she spots Mafuyu, she'll give her a wave. ]

( mafuyu comes down the stairs in a cute and more importantly warm outfit, hair up in the usual ponytail... though she does seem to be tugging at the ends loosely, as if unsure. )

I've got my wallet and phone, so that should be everything... the pockets are very deep. I feel like I could fit a kitten in these things.

[ She laughs. ]

Pockets are important! Besides, that dress is super cute. I like it.

[ Very much Aerith Approved. ]

Mm. I like it too. I actually have another in a different design- it's got foxes. Very fall.

You'll have to let me see it sometime!

[ She likes foxes, and especially as a little pattern! There's no way she can pass up the opportunity to see it.

But right now, they need to get on to the aquarium! ]

[ Since she knows where it is, Aerith will go ahead and lead the way. ]

It shouldn't be too far away from us.

Mhm. It's getting chilly, so I'm bringing the sweaters out more.

( she will follow along though! unlike previous outings with trusted adults it's not nearly as "following duckling" though. )

I can't believe I missed it, then... but, this will be nice.

[ Aerith is glad for that, since she'd rather walk side by side, slowing down enough that they can do just that. ]

It will be! You know, I don't think I've ever been to an aquarium before.

[ She knows about them, of course, but actually going? That was always reserved for the people who lived in the upper city, above the plate. Midgar's undercity had no reason to have an aquarium, much less the funds for it. ]

Mm. I've been a few times, but it's usually as part of a class trip. They're nice though... even if there's big crowds, it's soothing.

I bet it is. Being surrounded by all that nature... it must be nice.

[ Another way of feeling connected to the planet, she thinks. Her excitement for the aquarium is growing, so it's a real relief that they get there sooner rather than later.

She opens one of the doors, gesturing for Mafuyu to go in ahead of her. ]

I raise a small tank of seagrass back home, and I like watching it sway.

( --o, they're here already? okay. mafuyu digs into her wallet as she approaches the counter. )

[ Aerith places a gentle hand on her shoulder. ]

I've got this one. Don't worry about paying.

[ It was her idea, after all! So if Mafuyu doesn't protest too much, Aerith will go up to the counter and get tickets for them both. ]

You'll need to show me some seagrass here.

-!! Oh, um. Okay.

( what protest? mafuyu will let her do as she wants, even if she is a little flustered about it. she's been the mature one for so long back home, having people readily step in to take care of things has thrown her off. )

I will. There's probably going to be a lot to see.

( mafuyu pauses as they head on in, observing a sign on the reception's desk, but the figure of a whale floating in the air and the cool air quickly distracts her. )

[ She hands Mafuyu her ticket, but not before getting caught up in looking at that giant whale herself. ]

Wow... how cool is that?

[ Aerith tilts her head back just so she can get a good look. ]

Reminds me of the planet's protectors back home... even if those are way bigger.

Mm. I don't think it's to scale, but... it's really pretty. I think that's a blue whale. They're the largest mammals alive back home... Most aquariums can't fit any whales, but I think there's a few that manage to have whale sharks. It'd be nice to see them...

( in my heart, the animal crossing aquarium music is playing. mafuyu observes it for a little longer before taking another look around the lobby. a gift shop, a cafe... and multiple branching paths that will likely loop in together.

she grabs a minimap. )

Here. What sounds interesting?

[ There's no shortage of options, that's for sure, and it's overwhelming in a nice sort of way. It makes Aerith feel a little bit at peace to be somewhere with so much going on.

But she turns to the map Mafuyu's got in her hands. Almost immediately, she sees that an area mentions sharks. ]

Let's go there. If we're lucky, maybe they've got a whale shark. I'd like to see one too, since I have no idea how big any of the animals you're familiar with can be.

[ The monsters back in her world can get to be pretty big, after all. Maybe if Mafuyu can give her a good comparison between a whale shark and a blue whale, she'll get a better idea. ]

... It'd be nice to see. They're... very beautiful creatures. So I hope they do.

( so, to the sharks! the crowd is a lot, so at some point mafuyu holds on to aerith's hand so that they don't get separated.

If it's not with the sharks, it'd be in the largest tank available.

[ They totally do! ]

[ As they approach the area with the sharks, Aerith looks around for a tank that's bigger than the others and... ]
