[The last thing Arven expected was for someone to check up on him. It feels so foreign...but not necessarily in a bad way.]
Hey Mafuyu.
Gotta be honest, not really. I know none of us signed up for this, but this seriously can't be what the goddess brought us here for. Why is it suddenly okay for us to kill EACH OTHER? What if people start deciding to lower the bar for what they think deserves being executed for?
I understand. I don't... see why he felt he had to do that if it wasn't in self defense. I don't think it should have happened. I don't know if it will happen again. And that's terrifying.
I want to hope that with this occurance people will be more cautious against further infighting to prevent just that, but I don't know...
Glad to hear I'm not the only one freaked out by all of this. It all just feels so...above me. The battling is one thing, I'm kinda used to that with Pokemon battling, but people actually KILLING other people? I dunno. And it's even crazier how some people here seem used to it.
Once he's done packing the little impromptu picnic, Arven heads out with Mabosstiff in tow. It doesn't take him long to find Aubrey. Her pink hair is like a beacon.]
Hey! Hope you don't mind that I brought Mabosstiff along.
( mafuyu had followed others into the nekiya to help with healing, and by the time she's out, she... well, she's not hurt, but she does need a shower due to having been crouched by mcgillis to help, earlier.
she'll at least shoot him a text to let him know she'll be a bit... and then another once she's out and ready. )
Is there anything you want me to do to prepare...?
[Arven left once everyone else headed into the Nekyia, not wanting to bother with all of that anymore. He probably should have went to help with healing too, but he was annoyed and frustrated that it even happened in the first place. Neither of them really deserved what healing he could offer.
In the meantime, he's been getting ready for the picnic.]
Nah, I've got everything covered.
I was thinking of having the picnic over by the temple. The grounds there are perfect for it. If you're ready, we can meet up at the dorm entrance and walk over?
( and she is! and she is visibly... a little tired. more than a little, actually, but far be it from her to truly show it- no, she just lets her posture slouch a little. she still holds out a hand to help carry things, though. )
... They both should be on recovery now. Diarama wasn't the most effective against all of that.
[Arven gives Mafuyu a cheerful smile and wave when they meet up. He certainly can't blame her for looking tired. He is too, but less so in the physical sense right now. It won't stop him from trying to keep the mood light, though.
Though his smile wanes a little as he hands her a grocery bag.]
Oh. Well...hopefully it doesn't take them too long to heal up the rest of the way. The last thing we need is them getting sucked into a palace while they're still recovering.
[He'd have no problem calling them a liability if it happened, too.]
[He immediately turns to her, puzzled. He didn't even realize he was going back to being grumpy about the whole debacle, oops.]
N-No, I'm the one who should be sorry. Seriously, I'm glad they didn't actually do something...uh, fatal. I'm just tired of the infighting, that's all.
[With that, he starts on the path and awkwardly tries to find a new subject.]
I, um. I packed a bunch of different sandwich ingredients. I even got a couple different kinds of bread this time, since the grocery store was having a sale.
( oh, a big hug, even! just what the doctor ordered, which she returns with absolutely no hesitation, even hanging on a little as he steps back to let her in.
... granted, she does let go to greet mabosstiff, but that's just what you do for the goodest dog and he is getting so many pets. )
Mm? [He looks up from his sandwich, then suddenly falls silent for a moment.] ...Yeah.
[He can't help but feel a little worried now that Mafuyu's brought this up. He remembers her being undecided on the network post, and how weird that made him feel.
Mafuyu's not the only one who's been contemplative, in other words.]
[He would never have tried to dissuade her if she did choose to return, because she has friends she cares deeply about back home. But to hear her considering otherwise...it's oddly relieving. She won't be going back to where her mother is.]
Um... [He picks at the bread of his sandwich in a nervous manner, pulling off little pieces.] Then...have you thought about where you'd like to go?
[He so desperately wants to make an offer, and it's obvious on his face that he's holding back his feelings. But Mafuyu deserves to get to make her own choices.]
Well... ah. With... you would make the most sense, right? If that's okay.
( ... these idiots. mafuyu goes quieter at the question, so it might be harder to hear her than usual, but with the way she's blushing it might be obvious regardless. )
[His complexion reddens under Mafuyu's kiss, mostly out of embarrassment for how much he obviously overthought this whole thing. Well...at least he was able to hear Mafuyu's desire to be with him straight from her lips. His heart wants to flutter out of his chest as he replays those words in his mind.]
Mafuyu... [He breaks into smile, his sandwich all but forgotten for the time being.] That was pretty dumb of me, huh? I guess part of me was scared that you'd say no, too. It's selfish, I know, but...that's just how badly I want to be with you.
... That was... already something I knew would happen, if I didn't go back. And it's a terrifying thought, you know- if somehow, I can't contact them again... that... is something I will have to deal with.
[after the meeting]
Tonight was rough. I know you left around the time I did.
This is Mafuyu by the way.

I'm scared.

Me too. On both counts.
If it would help, you're welcome to come hang out with Mabosstiff sometime. He's got a pretty calming presence.

Well I'M not afraid of you, so I doubt Mabosstiff would be. He's way braver than me.

I have more of that tea. I can make us some.

I like the sound of that! I'll bring some biscuits to go with it.

[And it's also a great coping mechanism. ANYWAY-

Um- I won't bring it up again, promise, I just wanted to give you an update. Sorry.

Shall we...?

That sounds fun. I'm looking forward to it.

[He leans in to give her a big hug before she even makes it into the room.]
C'mon in. It's just me and Mabosstiff here 'til whenever Eli gets back.
[He steps aside for her and looks into the room.]
Mabosstiff! Look who's come to visit!
[The big dog is practically taking up the entierety of Arven's bed. But he lifts his head up and hops down to greet Mafuyu.]

Hello, Mabosstiff.

Really?! I mean--! I was just- I was just gonna ask if--!
no subject
Of course it's okay! It's what I've wanted all this time, more than anything. I was gonna ask you, but I just...didn't wanna make you feel pressured.
no subject
... Really? You have?
( ... oh. that...
mafuyu moves, leaning over the table to press a kiss to his forehead. )
I want to be with you... and, I don't think you would have. So, if you want to ask me things like that, we can talk about it.
