[ Argenti grants a nod at this, smiling gently, but also in a clearly understanding manner...no pun intended.
People have their own reasons for it, so he too wouldn't exactly find much fault in it, if at all (situation depending, but for the most part, yes.) Speaking of which... ]
...I really can't imagine you as one either. Not that I do not think you would make a terrible Knight! But, I do get your point as well, do not worry.
Though, I believe I can relate to at least something that you do - that is, adhering to a strong sense of duty.
A suit of armor like yours definitely doesn't suit me like it does you.
[ She smiles, a small, teasing glint in her eyes. ]
But I guess that's why we get along so well, isn't it? We both feel strongly about our own roles and the way we play them... and the things we're expected to do.
[ And in Argenti's case, sometimes that means killing people. ]
[ If anything, Argenti manages to direct a smile that is equal parts warm, but also gentle at hearing what she says, hope stirred again.
It's comforting, and he hopes desperately that will continue to remain the case. That at least they can be pleasant to one another, despite everything. ]
...I shall consider myself fortunate that you do, Lady Aerith.
After all, I do enjoy and cherish your presence well, and wish to have the opportunity to continue to speak with you, no matter what has happened.
[ No matter what may happen, as well.
That being said, he turns to face her, looking at her with a thoughtful expression. He feels like somehow, even if they have said that they understood each other well, by virtue of this conversation...he's come to understand her better, and so he stops in his pace. ]
...That said, I believe that we should make our way back. I do not wish to take all of your time away for the day. But, I am also most grateful that you decided to meet out with me here.
You're right. Wouldn't wanna get too deep into the farmland here, to the point it's dark when we're headed back.
[ So she'll easily turn around, motioning for Argenti to do the same. ]
I'm glad that you asked, actually. I wasn't sure how you would feel about everyone after... all of that, honestly. I wouldn't have even blamed you for keeping yourself locked up in your room all day.
So the fact that you asked me at all meant a lot to me.
Yes, tripping all over the plants and whatnot would be certainly most unfortunate.
[ Argenti blinks at that...yes, perhaps under normal circumstances people may do that, wouldn't they?
But, he does turn around easily, anyway. ]
Well, I shall admit that it was a little challenging, because I am still human at the end of the day. Though, not only had I thought of the entire discussion as necessary, but I considered it ultimately a Trial to be overcome. If I failed in that and let myself waste a day languishing in my room, I do not think I would be a Knight worthy of Idrila's blessing.
Still, I am most gladdened as well as deeply honored to hear that my request had great and significant positive effect on you. I think if I can at least keep it up...well, I shall not hope to jinx it by saying this...
But, I would prefer that would remain the case even in in the future.
[ Aerith would look at it in the same way, a trial she had to overcome, though she would probably consider it a suitable punishment too, even if she had done something she felt was necessary.
There's a small smile on her lips as she turns to regard Argenti for a moment, before her gaze turns back towards the sky. ]
I think it will. You're a likable guy, you know. Thoughtful too. So... I think that we'll both be able to move forward from all of this.
[ It's really all they can do, but what Aerith thinks makes a difference here is that moving forward is something they both want. That, in her opinion, matters. ]

[ Argenti throws her an amused glance at her as she says this. ]
But I do agree about what you've said. Though, it certainly does help that we are also quite courteous to one another as well upon that understanding!
[ And sometimes you just got to kill people in the name of all that is beautiful. ]

Well, you’re a very courteous person in general. And… I do like you, even after everything.
[ Even if she has to wrestle with complicated feelings over a decision he made. ]
